Hi,

I was installing AutoCad to PCs in the office when I randomly encountered this error in one of them.

I restarted the PC and reinstalled the said software, but I still got the same error.

Anybody who can help me fix the problem?

Hi,

From the picture I suppose you have Windows 7, if you are running the 64-bit version and AutoCAD 2004 is 32 bit, this may cause compatibility problem.

You can try the following:

  1. Delete all folder generated by the previous.
  2. Right click on the icon of AutoCAD 2004 and click on “Run as administrator”, then validate by clicking OK and try to run the installation again.
  3. If the problem is not fixed, then right click again on the file, select properties then select compatibility tab, in this tab check the box “Run this program in compatibility for" and select windows-XP, check also the box "Run this program as an administrator".
  4. Now try to run the installation again.

Hope this will fix your problem.

Thanks

If you are installing Autodesk AutoCAD 2004, it seems you are installing an incompatible software. Autodesk AutoCAD 2004 supports Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6a or higher, and Windows XP (Home, Professional, or Tablet PC edition).

For the hardware, it requires at least Intel Pentium 3 800 MHz or faster processor, 256 MB RAM, 300 MB free hard drive space, 1024 x 768 True Color screen resolution, Windows Internet Explorer 6, and CD-ROM drive. In your snapshot, it seems you are using Windows 7 or probably Windows Vista. That operating system is not compatible with Autodesk AutoCAD 2004.

If you are using Microsoft Windows Vista, upgrade to Autodesk AutoCAD 2008. If you are using Microsoft Windows 7, upgrade to Autodesk AutoCAD 2011. For Autodesk AutoCAD 2008, it supports Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, Windows XP (Home or Professional edition) Service Pack 2 or higher, and Windows Vista.

For Autodesk AutoCAD 2011, it supports Windows XP (Home or Professional edition) Service Pack 2 or higher, Windows Vista (Home Premium, Enterprise, Business, or Ultimate edition) Service Pack 1 or higher, and Windows 7 (Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate, or Enterprise edition).
