Hello friends,

During a clean install of Windows Server 2008 X64 Standard Edition, an error occurs: "Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code 0x8007045D."

During installation, expanding and formatting partitions seems to succeed. The same server can run Windows Server 2003 X64 just fine. Does anyone have any ideas?

Waiting for your ideas.

Hi,

That could be an error due to a hard drive issue. There could possibly be bad sectors on your hard drive that are causing that error to happen. You will therefore need to do a hard drive test using a bootable CD and see if you can find any issues with the CD you are using.

In case you have got a new Seagate hard drive, what you will need to do is to download the Seagate's Seatools, which is a bootable CD, and after that check for bad sectors. Use this link

For other drives, the following links will help you in testing the drives for issues:

Carl
