Hi!

I use Asus notebook. My PC Configuration are i3 processor 2nd gen, 2GB RAM, 500GB HDD,1GB graphic card and my Operating System is Win7 32.

When I installed Maya 2011 version, I was getting an error message that displays: Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x86).

Then, I installed C++2005. But the same error appeared again while other software (max 2010) runs easily.

Please help. Thanks.

I think you did not read first the system requirements of Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86) before downloading and installing it on your machine. Your operating system is not compatible with this version of Visual C++ runtime components. This version of Microsoft Visual C++ is only compatible with these Windows versions:

  • Windows 98
  • Windows 98 Second Edition
  • Windows Millennium
  • Windows Server 2003
  • Windows 2000 Service Pack 3
  • Windows XP Service Pack 2

You are using Windows 7 32-bit. What you need is the right version of Microsoft Visual C++ that is compatible with your operating system. I found a version that I think is compatible with your Windows version. Download and install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555. This version is compatible with Windows 7. Before installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package, uninstall first Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package to have a clean installation and avoid overlapping of the components.
