Error on date and time while setting up SP1

I have used Windows 7 since 4th of July 2010. While setting up Service Pack 1, the date and time showed the exact time I set up the Windows but it keeps going back to the same time and date every time I restarted the computer. It also stalls on start up, is this a hitch system restore can fix?

Its not operating system related or software related but rather it is hardware related. The CMOS battery of your motherboard is out of power and it needs to be replaced. Refer to the image below to see what it looks like:

The image above is the standard CMOS battery that we used on the computer. it prevents the system to restart the time and date. This is the power source of the clock. You should observed that the computer 's clock and date is updated, it because of this. Make sure to replace this to fix your problem. It is attach in the motherboard. Don't worry this is very cheap.
