Hi to all,

I am having issues logging into windows live messenger.

I get the following error message on my screen:

Windows Live Messenger

We were unable to sign you in to Windows Live messenger 8.1 BETA,

possibly because of a problem with the service or with your Internet

connection. Please make sure that you are connected to the Internet.

Windows Live Messenger has made several failed attempts to sign you

in. Your firewall may be blocking Windows Live Messenger from

connecting to the service. Please review your firewall settings. See the

retailer's instructions for more information.

Error code:

                       Troubleshoot                    Close                   Help

I am getting error code 80072745. When I go to Tools, Options and connections it says You are currently not connected to the .net messenger service. This is so frustrating. I have tried so many different things to get this fixed and nothing is working.

If anyone has answers for this problem I would appreciate the help.

Looking forward to your replies.

Regards,

Dennis

Hello Dennis,

To resolve that issue, do the following:

  • Go to Start and then click Run.
  • After that type REGEDIT and then press Enter.
  • Go to the left hand panel and then navigate to HKEY_CRRENT_USER -> Software -> Microsoft -> MSNMessenger.
  • Go to the right hand panel and  then delete the DAConfigVersion and DomainAuthority values.
  • After that restart MSN.
