Hello

I use a Mac, however at my school one wants to run Windows on my laptop, and so I gave it to Technical Support as well as they installed Windows 7 on it.

But, something was wrong, because when I tried to connect it to my home network and also tried to access the desktop i got the following error message. Then i also got it in other locations.

Then I advanced to Windows 8, thinking this would solve the problem, but, unfortunately, it has not. Now I am trying to setup a few graphics drivers, and all the time the installation fails, showing that it could not access different locations. I need to solve this. Please help me.

Thanks a lot.

Hello Krystle,

Try the following solutions:

Solution 1

You will need to have installed  Ccleaner on your computer and then run it with CCEnhancer add-on installed to so that it can clean the machine of MountPoints in Windows section on Applications Tab of its file cleaner function.

If you do not have it just yet, you can use safe mode + networking to download it, and then install on your computer and then run it.

Solution 2

  • On your computer press Windows key + Pause/Break key.
  • After that click the Advanced System Settings.
  • Navigate to Computer Name tab.
  • Locate Change and click on it.
  • Insert a new name and then click on theWorkgroup radio button.
  • Give theWorkgroup a name and then click OK to save and then reboot the machine.

Regards,

Carl

To resolve this, press the Windows Key+Pause/Break Key then hit the Advanced System Settings.

Under Computer Name tab, click Change and then enter a new name and tick the Workgroup.

Enter a name for the Workgroup and then click OK twice to save the new names and then restart your PC.

This will surely resolve your problem.
