Hi Experts,

When I connect my office computer Windows 7 machine via VPN, I get Atbroker.exe error. I get this often and the only solution is to restart my office system via a script or ask a friend to hard reboot the system. Can anyone help me with a proven solution as I have tried a lot of them already. Those solutions are on the first few pages of Google but nothing helped.

Regards,

Very simple one line solution. Do the below:

  • Click CTRL + ALT + END
  • And then login back and it works as a charm

I have had this issue many times when connect via VPN from home. Try this and get back if it does not solve. I can give alternative ways.

Hi,

The other reason why you get the error is because the Antivirus you are using has quarantined the Windows system shell32.dll. Antivirus programs, usually do this as a precaution, to contain viruses, adware or Malware. But not to worry, that problem can be solved.

Go to the Antivirus programs, and access the 'quarantine', where harmful programs are kept. Then allow 'shell32.dll' in other words, you have to go into quarantine and click the modify area and remove, C:windowssystemshell32.dll. For this to function well, you'll have to do the tasks in safe mode. Once you are done, restart and your problem is solved.
