Hi,

I’m using Encore (CS5.1) to create a DVD. After the footage is transcoded and Encore is building the DVD, I still continue to receive an error message that says “Unknown Error 12004”.

Does anyone know how I can fix this problem? Any help is much appreciated.

If this is the first time you’ll be using Adobe Encore CS5.1, try restarting your computer then try it again. Make sure you are using the right type of disc supported by the program and that the program is set to use the correct disc type as what was inserted in the optical drive of your computer. Adobe Encore CS5.1 supports Windows Vista 64-bit [Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, Enterprise] Service Pack 1, Windows 7 64-bit, and Mac OS X [10.5.7, 10.6.4]. This version doesn’t work with any 32-bit operating systems and only works on 64-bit platforms. It also requires a much faster processor like Intel Core 2 Duo, AMD Phenom II, or any multi core Intel processor for Macintosh computers.

You should also check the amount of RAM your computer has. This application requires around 2 GB of RAM, minimum. It also requires installing QuickTime 7 or later versions and Adobe Flash Player 10 or higher. Your DVD drive should also support dual-layer DVDs.
