I have a Windows XP computer system and recently, I opted to uninstall Kodak Easy Share and Kodak updater program using add/remove program feature in Control Panel. However every time my computer starts up this message pops up, “Runner Filename (Kodak Software updater.exe) lacks a (the app id separator)”. I really do not have an idea to resolve this issue.

That is a problem with the back end code of the kodak easy share program, or probably the registry entries of the program. It seems like when you uninstalled it from the control panel, the traces of the program were left of the computer and therefore every time you restart the computer, those files are executed by the system. You will need to remove any registry entries and traces of files related to kodak easy share as follows.

  • Go to program files on the primary hard drive C:, and locate the kodak easy share folder and delete it permanently.
  • Run the disk clean up utility to clear any files related to kodak easy share that are still on the computer.
  • Download an application called ccleaner and use it clear any unused registry entries on the computer.

May be your program is not deleted properly it mostly happens when the program is running and you are going to delete it. The first thing is the you need to delete this program in SAFE mode and then you will be able to delete it permanently. It will not show any message next time as the program will be fully deleted.

Any how if you are still getting this error then you need to go to the START menu and then to run in run type msconfig and press enter system configure will be in front of you. Now go to start up and then check the name of the file that is coming in start you need to locate that file and then uncheck it. it will not show up next time when you will boot your computer. Apply the settings and restart your computer the settings will be effective. As i have shown here :
