Hi,

I am getting an error saying "Error accessing the system registry" as I try to install a new program. I inserted the disk and clicked "run" and the popup is saying the above error.

I have installed it earlier and uninstalled it but again I need it to install and I am unable to do it.

I want to know whether I missed something while installing.

I am very thankful to your help.

Thanks.

You usually encounter thing error because of some software updates, when have new program installed new software added to your system. The reason is some old files during updates or software installation were not successfully deleted to your windows registry. The best thing that you can do to get rid of that error is to delete the old files, start software update to keep also your computer run smoothly. For you to determine what software or process triggered the error, such as newly installed software, software updates. But it is difficult to do it manually, so it much better if you will find registry software cleaner from the internet. You may try this one.

If that happens when you try to install the program back, it means you did not restart your computer. Most of the time, a system restart is required either after installing a program or after uninstalling a program. This is necessary if the program has parts that are still running when you uninstall it. So, in your case, try restarting your computer and install the program again.

See if this works. Also, make sure you are using an administrator account when installing the program. If this doesn’t work, try to clean the Windows registry. Download PC Tools Performance Toolkit. Follow the instructions to download and unpack and then install it. Once installed, start PC Tools then go to “Performance” tab and click “Clean Your Registry.”

On the next screen, make sure “Complete Registry Scan” is selected then click “Start Scan.” When scan is complete, click “Repair” to fix all problems found. When it is finished, close PC Tools then restart the computer. Try installing the program again and see if it works.
