Hi there,

I have this error when I want to connect to my Internet VIA Dial up. I’ve made the connection as the book said and it doesn’t want to work. All the time I have the same error and I don’t know why. The Internet connection is good because I’ve called and they said to that is active. Can anyone help me please to make a new connection ? Why the connection by the book doesn’t work ?

Thank you experts !

Hi Valerie,

It appears because you establish PPP dial-up connection. PPP stands for Point-to-Point Protocol. Because of these the dial-up connection security configuration is incorrectly configured to be able to use the require secured password setting. To resolve this error, right-click to the appropriate dial-up networking connection then click properties. In the networking tab, click settings. Uncheck the check box to clear the negotiate multi-link for single link connections. Click ok then exit the window. You can dial it again to connect to the internet.
