Error 705: Unable to connect to the server when posting an image

Hi dear friends,

I have been getting this error nearly always for the last few days while trying to post an image. The two times I DID manage to post the images were mangled by over-compression and full of jpg artifacts, which were NOT in the file that was sent. I quickly removed both images.

The last dozen or so attempts resulted in the 705 – UNABLE TO CONNECT TO SERVER error.

NOTE: I have noticed a brief flash in the activity bar, at the bottom of the screen, while attempting an upload that shows superfish.com near, or at, the end of the failed attempt.

Any thoughts on how to resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Mackenzie,

You will need to check what kind of ISP you are using, because the error you are getting is most likely a problem that is local to you. You will need to do the following:

  • Check to make sure that you are not using a web proxy server. If  your browser is Firefox do the following:

    • Open Firefox and then in the Menu bar click on Tools
    • After that click on Options and then Advanced  >> Network >> Connections
    • Check for proxy server settings and remove them.

The error might also be as a result of your computer having contracted some malware, and therefore you will need to run both an antivirus as well as malware specific scan to remove those threats from your computer.

Regards,

Carl

Hi Mackenzie Jacobb,

I encounter the same  problem as you are. I always check my internet connection, stop loading and refresh.

To fix error 705 or so called "Run Time Error".I have here some list of information might help you:

1. To fix your internet explorer, programs, exe errors the program you need to have is the PC Repair Pro. This program repairs all windows.

2. Make sure that your windows are up to date.

3. For some reasons most of this step are not 100% sure. All you need to do is to reimage your windows. Reimage fix your window and OS.

NOTE: Look for PC Repair Pro on net. And you can search for microsoft windows update for the best results.
