Error 2738 on Updating IncrediMail

I have been using IncrediMail for quite so long now. I like it very much, and I hardly received any problems with using it.

But I have got problems now on trying to update it. I go to a user account and tried to update the program there.

And it also updated for that user too. And now I am getting the same problems in both accounts.

I realized that maybe this is not an issue with IncrediMail because I am having the same problem when trying to update other programs. I posted the error that I encountered on updating, and I hope someone can lend a hand and help me on resolving the issue.

Thanks.

Try to look onto the registry and check if the registry key have been doubled. If you have the registry key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, leave it. If you have another one under HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

Make a copy before deleting HKCUSOFTWAREClassesCLSID{ B54F3741-5B07-11CF-A4B0-00AA004A55E8}

Hi Coreen!

Since you were having the same problem with other programs, then it looked like the issue was not of IncrediMail alone. I have also encountered the same problem and have researched several solutions about it. I`ve found out that some computers who have a pre-installed McAfee were not having this kind of error. So, if you already had McAfee but happened to uninstall it, try to download and install McAfee cleaner. Then reboot your computer. This should solve your problem.
