ERROR_INSTALL_FAILURE 1603 A fatal error occurred during installation.
I receive an error 1603: A fatal error occurred during installation when I try to install a Windows Installer package. If I click OK in the message box, the installation rolls back.
How do I continue with this one?

Hi,
To solve this first download ORCA. ORCA is a database table editor from Microsoft to create or edit windows installer packages.

Run Orca.

Open the problematic MSI file in orca.

Delete all custom actions and save as new MSI.

Run the new Windows installer package you just saved.

You usually receive this message due to the following facts:

The drive or the folder you are trying to install the windows package is encrypted.

The drive that contains the installing folder is accessed as substitute drive.

Since the Windows installer package use the system account to install software you may not have the full control permissions.
