Hi,

I am not able to install the Microsoft Office 2007 trial package in the system. When I try to install the Office trial pack from the authorized website, I ended up with this setup error message. I do not have any other versions in the computer; still I am getting this error message. I tried to ignore the error and I tried the retry button nothing works for me. Please help. Thanks.

Hello,

To solve your issue, you have follow certain steps.

First, try this Microsoft Fix It. This is a nice tool created by Microsoft to solve this issue.

Another way is to remove one file. Do the followings:

  1. Enable hidden files and protected system files to be shown. Learn how to show hidden and protected system files.
  2. Go to the following folder:
    “C:UsersAll UsersMicrosoftOfficeData”.
  3. You’ll see a file called “Opa12.dat”. Right-click on it and select “Properties”.
  4. Go to “Security” tab >> Advanced >> “Permissions” tab.
  5. Select “Everyone” in “Permission entries” list >> click “Edit”.
  6. Check “Full Control” box.
  7. Click “OK”.

If this still doesn’t solve the issue, delete the file and restart Office 2007 program.
