I tried to install Scrapbook Factory on my computer but I encountered some problems during the installation. The error message is “The cabinet file 'Data1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading the CD-Rom, or a problem with this package”. What should I do next? I tried to get help from the company I purchased the program but haven’t received anything from them yet and I need this to be fixed the soonest possible. So, I am asking you guys to help me with this. I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much.

Hi,

The causes of 1335 errors are virus infection, poor memory maintenance, unclean CD room, data.cab corruption, accidental registry changes, I will recommend you to close it and download from Mozilla Firefox. Or you can download with ei8 and disable download manager because the problem is not binary, it is with the medium and do the standard method instead.

Or if you prefer to do it manually be sure that your CD is clean because dust and scratches can prevent the download, check also the memory settings of your computer because installation has memory requirement, temporarily disable anti-virus because it can disrupt the installation process. Install the media now by different CD room and its drivers or drivers controller and or another install point on the network.

The package for that product you purchased normally ships in a box. Try cleaning the lens of your optical drive. You can use the lens cleaner of your DVD player or you can buy one from a local computer store. If this doesn’t work, try cleaning the disc itself by washing your CD with a solution of water and baby shampoo.

After washing, wipe it dry with a lint-free cloth. If this doesn’t work, try inserting the disc on a different computer with a working optical drive then try installing it there. If the program installs, try cleaning the lens of your optical drive with one of the following. Try checking out the following optical lens cleaner on eBay:

  • DVD CD Players Laser Lens Cleaner – this lens cleaner costs $4.55 and available for free shipping. See details for shipping worldwide. Item is located in China.
  • DVD & CD Laser Lens Cleaner – this one costs $8.82 and ships worldwide. Seller doesn’t offer free shipping. Item is located in the United States.
  • DVD Lens Cleaner – the price of this one is a bit higher than the first two, costs $14.99. Seller doesn’t offer free shipping and ships to select countries only. Item is located in the United States.
