Whenever I try to install a computer tools or applications, an error message encounters, pasted below as a screen shot.

The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application.

Thanks for sharing your problem with us, you can use command prompt to solve your problem. To solve your problem using command prompt just follow the following steps:
1. If you are using windows 7 then press window button + R run window will open type cmd.
2. In the command prompt window just type "sfc /scannow" without quotes. "sf/scannow" command will scan your computer and it will replace damaged version with correct version.
