Hi Experts,

I wanted complete installation of Windows Server 2008. Previously I had Windows Server 2003 64 bit and it worked fine. During installing Windows Server 2008 has encountered a problem. It has failed to connect some files and shown the error code 0x8007045D.

Have you any idea for the error code? Please help me to get a remedy of this problem.

Thanks.

Hi there? This is usually a disk read error caused by the computer being unable to read the information from the installation media. This error has also been experienced by other people installing any windows product, especially windows 7, off a spoiled media. You can try cleaning the media installation source if it happens to be an optical drive. Or you can also choose between the server core installation and full installation.  Choose core installation and give the product key.  I hope this helps you.

Hi Judith,

Error 0x8007045D means that the Installation or Set up was not able to validate the Windows Image file, meaning there is a corrupted file that is needed for the installation to push through. This can also be called as “bad media” probable cause is cyclic redundancy error (CRC). CRC can be caused by a faulty media or CD used, corrupted sector on the drive probably a scratch on the surface. With that you can try to see if you can avail another version of the installer. It can also be your DVD drive so you can isolate further by trying it out with another computer if possible.
