Microsoft Bing has tied up with some Britain based company to provide an encyclopedia in its search results.

There are claims that Encyclopedia Britannica has landed on Microsoft Bing. The collaboration of the firm with Britannica to include answers derived from the encyclopedia’s data directly in the Bing result pages.

This partnership sprung up after Encyclopedia Britannica stopped producing print editions earlier this March after 244years.

Franco Salvetti Principal development Lead said the search results will also pull in “direct links to other trusted sources. This is a competitive rebottle to Google’s Knowledge Graph which also gathers info based on search results on different topics.

Salvetti added that they were excited to partner with Encyclopedia Britannica as it strengthens its online presence and also helps users find helpful information.

Bing made collaboration with the reference book firm Encyclopedia Britannica for its online answer feature. This partnership was started from 2012/6/7, When encyclopedia Britannica stopped printing its big and weighty volumes and decided to work only with the online format.

Now people will easily get the relevant information quickly with short, useful facts, authentic figures and thumbnail images in Bing result pages as well as options to "dig deeper into the results" and pull direct link to other trusted sources as Wikipedia, Freebase, Quiki, Qoura etc.

From this answer feature users will get their answer directly by putting the question and keywords, no need to visit webpages. Some say it Bingtannica. Google’s Knowledge Graph was launched mid-May, which provides relevant information from its information bank where more than 500 million objects and 3.5 billion facts are preserved.
