Hello everyone! I am using HP elitebook 8440p and recently I had to update my OS to Windows 8.1. After the updates, some strange things have happened to my laptop and the biggest among them is that I can no longer use my Intel onboard graphic card. Without this graphic card, the laptop that I am currently using is actually useless and right now I have no idea what to do. Please help! Thanks!

Please try any one of the options below:

  1. Go to the Dell website here and click on “Go to Quick Test” from the Online Diagnostics.  I have included a screenshot on where to find it here
  1. Follow the following steps in the order as I place them here.   The order of driver installation as well as the restarting of the computer after the Intel Graphics Driver is installed and before the AMD driver is installed is somewhat crucial.  The system won’t recognize it as being a switchable graphics solution if you do it any other way.  Please use the latest updates available from Dell
  • Uninstall both drivers then go to Device Manager and make sure you see the Display Adapter as Standard VGA Adapter.
  • Reboot your device
  • Install the Intel driver
  • Reboot
  • Install the AMD Driver
  • Reboot
