Enabling hibernation on Linux Debian

Dear Debian user,

By default in the Linux system normal users can not edit any configuration file. So please login with root user with text mode.

Now you need to add group named "powerdev" this group will help you to manage shutdown, Reboot and Hibernate.

Simple you can do it by use below command from root user.

gpasswd -a user powerdev

If you don't do this, then you will not get available option for those work when you logout.

Hope you understand and clear. If this answers help you to solve your problem then please don't forget to reply us with thanks.
