Now select the type of account say POP3.

Incoming server settings: Username, Password, POP3 server (ex: pop.mydomiain.com), Port, Security type, then click Done, and then Next.

Outgoing server settings: SMTP server (ex: smtp.mydomain.com), Port, Security type, Require sign-in (check box), Username, and Password, then tap Done, and then Next.Make your selections for Account options like the frequency with which you want to check mail.

To configure your email account on your handset you need to have an active email account, login details for the incoming and outgoing mail servers, and of course, an active internet connection. Here’s how you can configure your email account on your Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro.

  • Go to your handset’s Start screen then to the Main menu and then select Email.
  • If this is the first time that your phone will be configured with an email account or your phone has not been configured with any email accounts yet, select the menu key then Accounts. Select the menu key again then “Add account”.
  • In “Email address”, enter your email address. In Password, enter your email’s present password then select “Manual setup”.
  • On the next screen, select POP3.
  • In Username, enter the username of your email account. In Password, enter your email account’s password. In “POP3 server”, enter the POP3 server address given by your email provider. In Port, enter the port number given by your email provider. In “Security type”, select None. Finally, select Next.
  • In “SMTP server”, enter relay.proximus.be. In Port, type 25. In “Security type”, select None. Uncheck the option “Require sign-in” and then select Next.
  • In “Inbox check frequency”, select your preferred mail checking interval and then select Next.
  • In “Give this account a name”, enter “Email via Proximus” or any name you wish. In “Your name”, enter your name then select Done.

Go back to the Start screen, turn off your Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro and then turn it on again. This is necessary to activate the new settings. This procedure is based on a Belgian Telecom service. Use these steps as your reference in configuring your handset with your email account.
