Electrohome USB Charging Alarm Clock Radio with time projection

The new Electrohome USB Clock is extraordinary. It has excellent features like, time projection on the ceiling and the feature of alarm but I am facing with the USB charging in it. When I charge my phone in it then it charges very slow and gets heated up. I have tried replacing the USB wire but the problem is not erasing. What can I do to it. I had bought it on amazon and I do not want to return it because of it merits. Any suggestion regarding my issue are welcomed.
