So I'm trying to dual boot Vista 64 and XP x64. mainly to play an RPG game, since it runs like crap on Vista but beautifully on XP. Anyway, I can't get EasyBCD to even recognize XP, even though it runs on XP on drive D:
help me out here please!
Valid NT Install not found!
EasyBCD failed to detect a valid version of Windows NT-2003 on the selected drive and was unable to continue.
Please select a different disk and try again.
EasyBCD 2.0.2 on vista/xp dual boot problem
The following workarounds should help you resolve that issue you are getting when trying to access EasyBCD.
You will need to try and replace the bootgrabber.exe in the main program files on your computer with the one referred to in this post.
If this does not resolve the issue just yet, try the following:
Rename the folder to WINDOWS temporarily,
And then after that use EasyBCD to add the entry – auto
Next you will need to rename the folder back again
And then you will have to edit the boot.ini entry EasyBCD that will be created to change the WINDOWS path to WINXP in both places.
Hope this helps.
