Each time I start Adium I receive an error message

Hi,

I’m using Adium on a Mac computer to keep in touch with my friends through MSN Messenger.

Adium was suggested to me by another person. My problem is that each time I start Adium I receive an error message.

I’ve only recently starting using Macs and this is my first error message on a Mac computer.

A screenshot of the error message that I am receiving is below.

How can I stop this error from occurring when using Adium?

Unknown error (241)
                             OK

Hello Janet,

Note that there may be other contacts that may show "profile not found" but the ones you want may be having no information at all.

To resolve that issue, you will need to try the following:

  • You will need to go to the "view" options,
  • And the choose view all contacts. It does not matter whether they are online, offline or have an inactive status.
  • After that, you will need to go to each of the contacts that you have not seen as active for a while and then click on each one of them at a time.
  • Select show information after that.

The contact that is causing that error may be found in "no profile found […] this contact may not even exist". You will therefore need to get rid of that contact and everything should be fine after that.
