DVD/CD-Rom Drive not recognized upon installing Arc Soft PhotoImpression 5.1.0.96

Can anyone help me out on this?

It has been said that Arc Soft Photo Impression is a Design and Photography editing software with GUI that spontaneously presents creative templates for easy access and usability. It has improved features similar to the application of GIMP or Irfan View.

However, once I installed the Arc Soft Photo Impression 5.1.0.96 in Presario CQ 42 OS Windows 7 Ultimate, its DVD/CD-Rom Drive was automatically not recognized. Could have been a coincidence, but it was again installed in an Acer Laptop, same thing happened.

Is it the same application that had made a computer to malfunction earlier that you installed on the Acer laptop? If it then that setup application is possibly corrupt, or it might have a malware embedded in it that is causing it to make the DVD drive to crash. What you will need to do therefore is obtain another setup application for that software on the internet and use it for installation.

Another option will be to try other applications like the nero express or the ashampoo burning studio which I am so sure that you will like. I have used them and they offer best services when it comes to burning.

Thanks Richard,

Yes, it is the same application that I have used in Acer Laptop. But I could not say that the application is corrupted sinc the same application has been used on desktops and DVD/CD-Rom didn't crash. Of course, I may use other application for the same purpose of photo editing but this problem with the Arc Soft has really puzzled me.

If the Arc Soft PhotoImpression application worked well on other desktops then I suspect there might some compatibility issues. You will need to make sure that the application is meant to run on the operating system that you are using, and if not check the system specifications of the laptop and download the right version for it.

You may also need to check and see if there might some missing DVD drive drivers. Go to the device manager and check that out. If drives are missing you will need to make sure that you install them. Otherwise you may try a simple process which restarting the computer the moment you install the application. Maybe it requires that the computer be restarted for it to be effective.
