Hi There!

When I buy a computer from the shop then I did not buy my DVD writer. I mean that it will be no issue for me in the future. After passing some months suddenly I need to set up my windows. Then I immediately go to a computer shop for buying a DVD writer.

cannot find my DVD writer cable in my PC

After buying DVD writer when I open my PC for activates it. But I cannot find my DVD writer cable in my PC. Only one cable is matching and other cable is not matching.

PC for activates it

So I need that’s cable to activate it.

Please help me with helpful answers.

Hi Neil,

Your question is regarding your system hardware. You have mentioned that you have bought a DVD writer but could not find the connecting wire in the computer. In order to solve this problem you have to ensure two things.

Does your motherboard support the SATA option? If yes then the picture you have shown has wire with the SATA option. Connect the wider black end with your DVD writer and the small black end with your motherboard. But if it does not support the SATA option then connect the white finish and a BUS wire in your PC with the DVD writer and the small black end into the motherboard.

I hope it will work.

Thank You.
