I've been experiencing Downtime when transferring a domain from my previous hosting provider to a current server. How can I go about this without having and Downtime and what's causing it?

If you are not well prepared and have enough knowledge about transferring process, transmitting a website, involving different hosting providers can cause problems like downtime. If you are using WHM/Cpanel on both hosting providers you overcome the downtime easily. For copying website from old server to new server do following steps.

  • In New server whom Click on Copy an account from another server
  • Add old server IP address
  • Username i.e. root
  • Password
  • Click on Express Transfer
  • Click on Transfer Account

This will start copying website files databases everything from old server to new server. Express Transfer is used to change the DNS settings according to new server.
