DownThemAll! not downloading files properly in Firefox

I have Windows Vista Business installed on my laptop. I use Firefox 12.0 for browsing. I installed DownThemAll version 2.0.13 on my system and it worked fine but lately I’m having trouble downloading with DownThemAll.

The problem is that the files downloaded do not open since they are corrupted. The error message encountered is “C:UsersmeDownloadsfile.exe is not a valid Win32 application”, file.exe as the downloaded file.

When I download the same files using the built-in download manager of Firefox, they are downloaded correctly and are working good but the same files downloaded with DownThemAll get corrupted!

Please help me.

I have tried to reset the software settings to default but without any result.

DownThemAll! not downloading files properly in Firefox

Hi IsabellaRTD,

Try to read the steps below to resolve the problem:

1. Check your internet connection. Most errors in downloading lies in inconsistent data connectivity.

2. Make sure that you downloaded the latest DownThemll version that is compatible with Mozilla Firefox. If possible, try using the stable build of both Firefox and DownThemAll. Beta builds are prone for bugs and errors.

3.Enable "logging" into the DTA extension and go through its logs. Identify the conflicting extension or file and disable it.

4. If you have YSlow extension installed, disable it and restart Firefox. There are reports that YSlow causes errors in DownThemAll.

5. If nothing else works, try to reinstall Firefox and download the latest extensions that you really need. Numerous extensions installed can cause slow browsing experience.

Hope I answered your question well.
