Hello Jessica,

I have read your question regarding thunderbird downloads in large content. You were saying that the files downloaded don’t show the content of the messages, I say, it might be corrupted. Corrupted files usually occur when you download it in large size, therefore some other users prefer to download small files than the large one. By the way, there are some things to be corrected to download large files forcefully for you to see the content of it. Kindly follow these simple steps for you to fully achieve the goal.

  1. Open Thunderbird program and then go to “Options” under “Tools” menu.
  2. Then follow this sequence: from “Advanced” tab to “General” and then “Config Editor”
  3. In the “Filter” field, type “mail.imap.fetch_by_chunks”. Then right click the item that is shown after typing it. Choose and click “Toggle”.
  4. Again, the same as number 3, type in the “Filter” field “mail.server.default.fetch_by_chunks”. Then right click the item that is shown after typing it. Choose and click “Toggle”.
  5. In case the above 2 items doesn’t seem to accomplish the project, kindly follow the same order from 1-4 but try to enter different line “mail.imap.mime_parts_on_demand” and change value to false; then “mail.server.default.parts_on_demand” the value is also false

I hope this information is of good help.
