I have taken information systems as a major and have one year left before graduation. But I have heard that employers are not very interested in CIS/CS degrees. So my question is “is information systems a good major?”

What you have heard is not very much true. CIS degree is still highly regarded and appreciated. Many places look for fresh graduates. It is also true that experience matters a lot. But you have to start somewhere for experience. Get into a junior post first and then get higher with experience and certificates and build your career the way you want it to be. For example, if you have a computer engineering degree, they might not let you work on CISCO networking and PC administration. So, a CIS as a major will help you a lot. Don’t look back and regret, instead look forward and plan what you can do with what you have.
