Doesn’t execute the shutdown command

I have configured all the PCs to adhere to the admin commands. When I give the command to shutdown, it displays the message "This machine will shutdown in 5 minutes" and it counts down but, doesn't actually shutdown.

Please help.

Hi Monica,

If shutdown via command has failed with the proper switch settings then you will have to create a batch file with the following where computer name is actual name of computer to be shutdown type the following:

On a notepad shutdown –m \computer1name –s shutdown –m \computer2name –s shutdown –m \computer3name -s save It with extension.bat you can also try shutdown -f for a force shutdown. It will work when you run batch file. Otherwise check that the virus has not disabled your task manager and denied you privilege to do so. thank you, let me know your progress.

All the best.

Hello Monica lewis,

Sometimes this is occurred due to virus. Actually, I am not sure in your case. I suggest you to reinstall your operating system otherwise, every time you need to make a force shutdown which is not better for your computer. I think, after reinstalling your operating system all issues will be fixes.

Have a nice day.

Paul Jolie.
