I have just found a tool for securely transferring files across the internet. How to work with it if my server doesn't support SFTP?

There is no problem if your server doesn’t support transferring of files using the SFTP protocol or method. You can use WinSCP as an SFTP client, as an SCP client, as an FTPS client, or as an FTP client, whichever you want. These are all integrated into one (1) application which is very unique. So that means, if your server doesn’t support transferring of files using the SFTP protocol, you can use the FTP method which I’m sure is supported.

If you are having a problem with your application, try reinstalling it on your computer. Uninstall WinSCP 4.3.8 from your machine then restart your computer when asked. After booting, check your computer for any possible errors. Use a disk utility application to check the system. Install WinSCP again after this. If you want to download its installer again, you may visit WinSCP — Free SFTP, SCP and FTP client for Windows.
