Does not appear to have the FrontPage server extensions installed

Hi guys, I have an error message here posted below for you to analyze and help, I received this error while using Microsoft FrontPage.

Microsoft FrontPage

Unable to open ‘http: //mank.co.cc’ does not appear to have the FrontPage server extensions installed.

Possible causes:

  1. The web server may not have the FrontPage Server Extensions installed.
  2. The web server may be temporarily out of service.
  3. If you are connecting through a proxy server, the proxy settings may be incorrect.
  4. An error may have occurred in the web server.

If this server does not support the FrontPage Server Extensions, FrontPage may still be able to publish to the server via FTP.

As I analyzed on the error message that I pasted above, It is referring to my connection towards the web server, that is why I check on my network connection, it seems to be working because I can surf the internet, and my firewall has no restrictions regarding connection to server, as far as I know, I already did all the checking based on my capacity, please share some thoughts on what else shall I check, thanks guys.

Hello Danseagul,

You need to check in your web hosting account (where you have hosted your domain) that if it does support Microsoft Frontpage Extensions. If it does not have any option for Microsoft Frontpage Extensions, then you can not directly upload your website to the server.

In that case, you need to save your website on local in a folder and then upload it through any FTP client softwares available for free. Like CoreFTP, Filezilla.

In the FTP client, enter your website details like Webhost, your username, password.

And then upload it on your server, your website will start working.

I hope it helps.

With Regards
