Hi there,

XP Antivirus 2012 is actually a malicious software with a misleading name. It's main purpose is to steal money from the user's credit card accounts. It is spread all over infected websites, shows fake security scans saying your computer is infected and offering you the XP Antivirus 2012 as the perfect tool to remove the viruses.
Once you realize that the software is not actually an antivirus and you try to remove it, it will ask you to buy the full version. There is no point in that except throwing your money.

The answer to your question would be – no, once activated this software is not harmful more than it was before the activation. The activation code will only help you to remove it completely.
