Document error while merging with a numbers document

Hi,

Today, I get the following error message when I tried to merge with a numbers document that I had a form letter with two merge components. The error says “Please select a Numbers document that has one or more named header columns and one or more rows of data”. Help me to fix this issue. Thanks.

Document error while merging with a numbers document

This seems like a fairly common error while trying to merge. The Pages help document describes the below steps to resolve the issue:
 
  1. Choose the Numbers document in the window that appears & click Open. 
  2. For each merge field, click the Target Name pop-up menu in the Merge window, and select a target. 
  3. Print the document. 
  4. To reuse the document with other Numbers data, select another Numbers document, and repeat steps 1 through 4.
