Well, Microsoft Lumia 540 was a big hit in India when it was launched. Available at lower prices, dual sim phone, 8GB Ram, etc. etc. so many features in Microsoft os and we can buy it at an affordable price. But, it was not accepted by most of its users after its purchase. There lies a huge difference between android os and windows os. Windows did not support much of the android apps and hence, it introduced dummy apps for those incompatible android apps. But, users were not able to find the dummy apps.

This came as a major fall for Microsoft as it could not compete with android os being much more secure and safer than Android in case of data storage and transfer. It did not support many features of the existing apps such as video call etc. it introduced the updates for the apps much later. These were the main reasons for not gaining much popularity of Microsoft Lumia 540 in India.
