DNS server does not work when I use the internet through Windows

I am using the Ubuntu operating system which I installed using the Wubi installer for Windows. I find that the DNS server does not work when I use the internet through Windows after accessing the internet through Ubuntu. This problem occurs everytime I access the internet that way. I am assuming that the DNS server gets reset by Linux. I am connecting through a proxy network. Can you help me get around this issue?

Thanks.

If the DNS server works perfectly when you are using the ubuntu operating system, then the problem as to why you are not able to connect to the internet when you are using windows is probably due to a problem in the DNS server settings. Either the IP address that you had configured have disappeared of there are some problem with the ethernet driver in windows. To resolve that issue, you will need to go to the Network properties and check if the IP address, the subnet mask, the gateway and DNS settings have been configured properly. In not you will need to change them accordingly. Also go to the device manager and check if the ethernet adapter drivers have been installed.
