Displayport does not resume back from sleep mode

Hi experts,

I have a new monitor 7950 that has only 1 DVI and therefore I use DVI for 1 monitor and mini-displayport for the other. The problem now is that several times now; my monitor on displayport does not resume back when it shuts down when it’s  in sleep mode, or even blank screensaver mode.

Plugging and unplugging displayport several times brings the display back but i get the message below.

Please help me on how to fix this?

DisplayPort Link Failure

The system has detected a link failure and cannot set the requested resolution and refresh rate on your DisplayPort display.

Your display might not be support the requested resolution or there may be an issue with the cable connecting the display to your computer.

Hi Kathryn G Galusha,

The problem is mainly on your cords, please check if the cord is properly inserted and if the port is not broken or damaged the problem is that your monitor isn't picking up signal for your display sometimes you must connect the monitor on your video card in order for it to have a display
