I am using Ubuntu 11.04. Each time I properly shut down my PC and when I turn on my PC it checks the drives for errors. It takes quite a long time to check.

How can I get rid of that problem?

Ubuntu has a function check system called disk utility management. It notifies you if you have any problem in your hard disk. Some steps you can take is given below:

a) Go to application than find disk analyzer in the accessories section then go to edit and click on preference tab and uncheck the boxes in there.

b) If the 1st process is not work then go to system, then go to start up application, and then uncheck the box which indicate the disk utility.

c)if the notification is not gone I think your disk has a bad sector problem or the hard drive  has some other serious problem. Please check it or take it to an expert.
