Hi,

I just a brand new phone and I have this error with my Micro SD Card 8GB when I want to copy some files. Actually I can’t save anything on Micro SD and if I tap Retry this error appears again. I tried with 2 different SD and all have same error. Please tell me if is an error with my phone or with Micro SD? What type Micros SD should I use? Thank you!

Hi Jeff

To solve your problem, you have two options. First, from that pop-up error, select Stop. Then turn off your device. Remove your memory card from your phone and insert it again. Then turn on your mobile device again. You second choice is, format your memory card using a computer. Insert your memory card in your computer using memory card reader. Right-click to the name of your memory card found in My Computer then select Format. Wait until the process done. Insert it to your mobile and check if the error still occurs. If it does, your final choice will be reset your mobile in its factory settings.

That normally happens when the microSD card reached its end of life. When this happens, you can no longer format the card or if you were able to format it, it will have a permanent error and eventually go back to being corrupt. This is common to old microSD cards after consuming all the write times.

But if your microSD card is not that old or it is brand new, try formatting it on your computer or on your phone. Insert it on a card reader on your computer and format it just like formatting a normal drive. If you want to use the microSD card on your phone, it is recommended that you format it on your phone and not on the computer.

Formatting the microSD card on the computer is different when formatting it on the phone. If the microSD card can’t be formatted, then it is already dead. Just buy a new microSD card for your phone.
