From few days my system is not working properly when I start my system then I receive error that hard drive is not attached. Then I buy 1 window DVD from Market and try to install it when I am installing window then I want to delete portion of C drive but when I delete partition then I receive below error please tell me why I am receiving this error.

The disk cannot be partitioned because some file cannot be moved.

Back up the disk and use Disk Utility to format it as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume. Restore your information to the disk and try using Boot

Camp Assistant again.

Hi,

This error message means many things. You can not delete C drive because may be your operating system can not delete its file format so you are unable to format this drive. May be you have virus in your system or may be you have bad sector in your hard drive.

The solution is using any of Linux operating system for just format your HDD. Linux red hat, Slax or Ubuntu can be helpful because some virus have this type of ability. These viruses can active just in a little windows environment.

Other option is try to install windows 98 or Me in other partition and install a software of bad sector remover. Then use this software to recover or repair your HDD.

When partitioning so that I can install XP, bootcamp claims that specific files cannot be moved, making it so that I am unable to install XP.

It then orders me to ~gasp~ back my files, and reinstall OSX.

Anyone else have this error message?
I wanted a 14GB partition, and that would leave about 16 additional gigs free on the OSX partition
