Difficulty installing software with Dragon Naturally Speaking Preferred 10 Software

I used Dragon Naturally Speaking Preferred 10 Software for installing some program.

During the installation, I entered the product license as necessary.

However, a window Popup keeps asking for windows username and password. Below the Popup appears this statement: “The information being requested here is required by windows to schedule the task on this computer.

The information will not be retained by this application.” I am lost due to this because I had already removed the user name and password from my laptop. On trying the old username and password, they were rejected.

My operating system is Vista and there is adequate space to accommodate the software I am trying to install.

I am worried on what to do.

Could you please advise me on how I can bypass the request for username and password?

I will appreciate your help very much.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 system requirements:

  • Pentium 4 1GHz, AMD Athlon 64 or faster processor
  • Windows Server 2000, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 or higher, Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3 32-bit, Windows Vista Service Pack 1 32-bit or 64-bit, Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit
  • 512 MB RAM or more recommended, 1 GB minimum for Windows Vista, 2 GB minimum for Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit
  • 1 GB free hard disk space
  • DVD optical drive
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or higher
  • Sound card that supports 16-bit recording
  • Internet connection required for activation

If the application keeps on asking for the username and password during installation, try to leave it blank and proceed to the next step since you already said that you are not using any username and password when logging in to your computer.

If the procedure will not proceed if you leave it blank, try typing Administrator as your username and then leave the password blank.

1. First off trying running the program as an admin

2. Secondly, you can always turn off the UAC which should be under the control panel

3. Third I highly suggest updating to windows 7 if you get the chance since it solves most of vista's irregular problems.

Specification passed. No error occurred now.

I didn't put any username and password this time.

I thought it won't work but now it is okay.

I thank you Sharath.

Thanks also for the other comment.
