Programmer is what you call people who knows how to write computer software. A programmer is a specialist to a certain area of computer programming. A programmer is also a generalist who can write codes for a different kinds of software.

In general, the word  programmer is used to refer to a software analyst, computer scientist, software engineer or a software developer. However, the use of the term programmer undermines some programmers who have engineering skills beyond programming.

The use of this term has reached disparaging expression that  is used to call anyone who just knows how to write codes even without the right tools and education. As such, the term software engineer was created to supposedly differentiate from that of a programmer, but it is still under debate.

Programmers and software engineer terms can be identical. But the thing we have to consider that certain person inscribe code (program) and other people manipulate and embed  the code into various other things (integrate). A software is just a like a building that is constructed by the help of numerous small bricks. That’s also the case between a programmer and a software engineer. Programmers construct tiny little parts and then the software engineer moulds it into a finished product.
