The difference between RJ11 and RJ12 is not large. They are quite similar as both of them use six slot connector. RJ stands for Registered jacks that find uses in telephone lines, and two numbers are used to specify the standard. RJ11 has more applications than RJ12. RJ11 find its use in a home and telephone services. They only differ in the wiring. RJ12 uses all the six slots whereas RJ11 uses only four slots out of six.
