Hello! I just bought a new monitor and they gave me two cables, HDMI and VGA cable. What are these two cables for? What is the difference between HDMI and VGA cable? Can I use both at the same time because I think there is an option to use both simultaneously. Thanks in advance!

HDMI- High Definition Multimedia Interface cable, carry uncompressed audio and high definition information. Multiple operations can be performed on this single cable with multiple internal conductors, for example: control is carried, communication data etc.

VGA- Video Graphics Array provides high definition color display with over 16 colors shown at a time. Picture signals are transferred from computer to computer monitor.

Yes, you can use both the cables at the same time. It will not damage your computer.

VGA cable will only transfer visual information to the monitor but HDMI could transfer both audio and visual signal. Normally, VGA can only connect to the computer but HDMI provides a variety of different electronic products, for example, you can connect with DVD / Blue-ray players, PlayStation, Xbox, mobile phones etc.

Yes, you can connect them at the same time but most of the monitor will not display image simultaneously, switching between different inputs is required. Please check with the manual.
