There are two categories, that are, cat5e and cat6. What is the difference between cat5e and cat6? What is the bandwidth available? Will cat6 take over cat5e?
The Difference Between Cat5e And Cat6 And Bandwidth Available.
The general difference between the cat6 and cat5e is in the transmission performance. The bandwidth available for category 5e is from 100 MHz to 200 MHz for category 6. It has better insertion loss, return loss, NEXT, ELFEXT that allows higher reliability for current applications. Cat6 will provide a higher signal to noise ratio. Applications that works over cat5e will now work over cat6. Cat6 will soon take over cat5e, indicates analyst predictions.
