What are the procedures to follow in detail to change or replace ones phone number with a new one on the WhatsApp platform? I would like to know if it is possible to switch my current WhatsApp registered number with another network number. I have a new phone and I don’t want to loose my contacts on the old phone but want to use the old contacts and their conversations right on the new phone. I hope my question is clear? Thank you.

There are different methods of changing the user’s phone number in WhatsApp depending on the phone’s system. For users with Android devices, start WhatsApp then go to Settings, Account, and then select Change Number. Key in the current phone number you used on WhatsApp on the top box. After that, key in the new phone number on the lower box and then tap Done to continue.
Once this is done and your new number is successfully verified, WhatsApp will delete your old phone number. All your account information will be migrated to your new phone number. Please be reminded to avoid swapping of SIM cards frequently to prevent issues in the verification process. For iPhone users, the process is the same.
For BlackBerry users, start WhatsApp then go to Settings, Account, and then select Change My Number. See image.
Enter your old phone number on the upper box and then your new phone number on the lower box. Once complete, tap Change My Number. Your new phone number will be verified after this and you will receive a code through SMS or phone call. See image.
