Hello,

I would like to suggest that you have to try another usb adapter in your blackberry phone for troubleshooting purposes maybe the adapter has losen and it might be the reason why the blackberry phone is not detected by your computer. I suggest that if there is a latest version of the desktop manager you install that one and uninstall first the previous. I just want you to keep your operating system updated all recommended and important updates before installing the software for security purposes. There might be a compatibility problem between the software and the computer operating system.

Before installing the BlackBerry Desktop Software, you need to check first the OS version running on your BlackBerry device because there are specific versions for specific devices. If your BlackBerry Smartphone is running on BlackBerry 7.1 OS or earlier, you should use and install BlackBerry Desktop Software 7.1.0.

If your BlackBerry Smartphone is running on BlackBerry 10 OS, you need to use and install BlackBerry Link Software. Make sure you have room in your hard drive because these applications are more than 100 MB in size. The BlackBerry Link Software and BlackBerry Desktop Software require Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8. It also requires .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1.

You can download .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 from Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 Full Package. On the other hand, if you have the required BlackBerry software for your computer but your phone still can’t be detected, try updating your BlackBerry Desktop Software. To update, start BlackBerry Desktop Software then go to Help and then select “Check for updates”.

If an update is available, review the information then click “Get update”. Restart the BlackBerry Desktop Software when you are prompted to. Once the update is complete, try connecting your Smartphone again to your computer and see if it works. You should also check if your USB cable is still perfectly ok. Try using a different USB cable if it’s possible.
