I am using Dell Studio Laptop 1558 and just format my laptop last week.

I am trying to install Dell webcam Central, but I have experience installing failure, it is Dell Webcam Central.

It appears this message when I start to install: "Setup could not detect any Dell Webcam Central on your system Please ensure that your Dell Webcam Central is properly installed before running this Setup program Setup will now exit."

Can anyone tell me the better solution to get rid of this problem?

I also experience that confusing error about hardware installers in my sister's Acer Aspire laptop. Sometimes when you buy a laptop it usually comes with a CD which contains all the possible installers for the laptop. When I opened the CD that comes with my sister’s laptop, I got confused on the installers inside. It has different kinds of installers for the laptop’s built-in webcam. And also in the notepad, it has different versions.

Maybe that’s what happened to you. Try going to Dell’s website: http://www.dell.com/en-us/. Create an account there. Then after all the procedures, try searching the website for an available installer for your laptop’s webcam. It’s free to download since you are also a Dell computer owner.

The best recommendation that I can give you to help you resolve the problem that you are having with the dell webcam central is the following:

  • You will need to run System Restore, and make sure that you undo all of the recent system changes you have made and see if that will help solve the problem
  • By doing so you will need to cautiously re-execute whatever customization you had done that is making computer behave that way.

To find the system restore utility you will need to go to Start Menu in Programs >> Accessories >> System Tools. And then in the system restore window, you will make sure that the restore point you specify is a time before the problem started occurring.
